Boaters – We Need YOU!

December 14, 2019 – Be a Part of the “Greatest Show on H20”

If you do not want to enter your boat for only $35, please consider becoming a part of our volunteer force on water. As a control boater, you are the eyes and ears of the Parade. Your participation is vital to keeping the Parade safe and our waterways secure.

Fill out the control boat form to get the best  anchoring spot while defining parade perimeters along our waterways. We need your help during this great community event!

All participants get to attend a Thank you Party at Timpano.

Mandatory control boat meeting where you will receive a well-stocked goodie bag December 11th at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.

Family Fun Day – Where to Park?

Planning on attending this Sunday’s November 22nd Winterfest Family Fun Day with the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Open Streets? Click on the link to find the best locations to park. Remember Las Olas will be closed during the day and the event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. City lots will have a flat rate of $5.


Plywood Regatta


The Annual Plywood Regatta is a two-day event where middle, high school, and college students will attempt to build sea-worthy vessels on Saturday, April 14th using simple hand-tools and only a limited set of supplied materials. Then on Sunday, April 15th, the public is invited to come watch as the students compete in a fun-filled and friendly rivalry when the finished boats line up and race in a series of heats to determine which boats actually are seaworthy and which boats exude that sinking feeling!

Hope Floats Benefiting Tomorrow’s Rainbow


9th Annual Hope Floats Benefiting Tomorrow’s Rainbow is a free memorial celebration for the entire family at Esplanade Park and is open to the public at 1 p.m. Live music, games, arts & crafts, and a paper boat parade featuring a 24 foot paper boat to honor those no longer with us, but that remain in our hearts forever begins at 4 p.m.  Don’t miss the boat! 954.978.2390.

Broward County Waterway Cleanup


The 41st Annual Waterway Cleanup, organized by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and Marine Industry Cares Foundation, is the county’s largest and longest-running environmental event. In 2016, over 1,500 volunteers of all ages by land and 100 boats worked at more than 30 locations across the county to remove 22 tons of trash and debris from our waterways, rivers and canals.

This celebratory event honors the people who play a huge role in the success of Winterfest® – our volunteers! Carolyn McLaughlin Spirit of Volunteerism Award winner is announced during the event.  2018 winner was Volunteer Anne Hunt.

The City of Coral Springs “ Holiday Heroes” Parade will host more than 60 entries this year. The parade includes themed floats, nine marching bands and walking groups and of course Santa that closes the parade line up!

Duck Fest Derby

Duck Fest(2)DATE NOT CONFIRMED – To benefit Kids In Distress – You won’t want to miss the Annual Duck Fest Derby in Fort Lauderdale. This is a family friendly event at Esplanade Park on the New River. The event is from 1-4 PM in March 2016 with live entertainment by “The Bittersweet Experience” on the main stage, KID Olympic Games, KID Fun Zone, Petting Zoo and many other fun activities! At 3:30 sharp, 15,000 rubber ducks will be dropped into the water and the 1st to cross the finish line wins! Many other great raffle prizes to be announced!
