Award Winners
Boise, Idaho- The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) paid
tribute to the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade – produced by
Winterfest, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 25, 2019 at
the IFEA’s 64th Annual Convention, Expo & Retreat presented by Haas &
Wilkerson Insurance in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, U.S.A. where they were
presented with twelve awards in the prestigious IFEA/Haas &
Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards competition.
Awards were won in the following categories:

Awards were handed
out in 69 different categories in total including Best TV Promotion; Social
Media Site; Commemorative Poster; Sponsorship Program; Parade; Educational
Program, Accessibility Program; Children’s Program; Social Media Campaign;
Merchandising Program in addition to the highest award given by the IFEA in
recognition of those Festivals and Events who have a balance of all the
elements necessary to ensure a successful event – the Grand Pinnacle.

Announces Bill Walker as 2019 Commodore of the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Boat Parade

LAUDERDALE, FL September 12th, 2019 In honor of his
dedication to the Parade and community involvement, the Seminole Hard Rock
Winterfest® Boat Parade has
announced Bill Walker as the 2019 Commodore. Walker, President and CEO of Water
Taxi Fort Lauderdale, has been involved as a Winterfest® board member as well as the Winterfest® Boat Committee since 2016, and has had his Water Taxis as Parade
entries for over 10 years.
Since
acquiring Water Taxi Fort Lauderdale in 2007, Walker and his company of 150
people have created a unique waterway service that has become a signature
transportation resource to this area. Before relocating to South Florida,
Walker served as the Principal and President at Boston’s Best Cruises. Here he
developed a system that included the first high speed bow loading catamarans to
be ADA accessible. Now, Walker is an established member of the Marine Advisory
Board of Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and the Las Olas
Association Board of Directors. CEO of Winterfest® Lisa Scott-Founds said, “Bill’s passion, reliability, and
extensive knowledge of maritime has made him the perfect candidate to take the
helm as this year’s Winterfest® Commodore”.
Bill
Walker will be honored at the Grand Marshal Reception on December 13th.
Walker will be a part of the Parade along Fort Lauderdale waterways in true
Commodore Style on December 14th, at 6:30p.m.

Disney Theatrical Productions announce the theme of the 2019 Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Black Tie Ball presented by
Ford in association with Republic National Distributing Company. Your Broadway
wish will be granted during the premier social event of 2019. On Saturday,
December 7th, the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Black Tie Ball will host special
performances from Disney’s Aladdin.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel

Aladdin, adapted from the animated
Disney film and centuries-old folktales including “One Thousand and One
Nights,” is brought to fresh theatrical life in this bold new musical. Aladdin’s journey sweeps audiences into an
exotic world of daring adventure, classic comedy and timeless romance.
This new production features a full score, including the five cherished songs
from the Academy Award-winning soundtrack and more written especially for the
stage.
The animated film Aladdin was released by
Disney in 1992 and was a critical and box office smash, becoming the
highest-grossing film of the year.
The film won the Oscar for Best Original Score and
introduced the hit song “A Whole New World,” which won the second of the film’s
two Academy Awards as Best Original Song. The Peabo Bryson/Regina Belle
recording of the tune soared to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Aladdin is designed by seven-time Tony-winning scenic
designer Bob Crowley, six-time Tony-winning lighting designer Natasha Katz,
two-time Tony-winning costume designer Gregg Barnes and sound designer Ken
Travis.
The production team also includes illusion designer
Jim Steinmeyer, hair designer Josh Marquette and makeup designer Milagros Medina-Cerdeira.
The music team is headed by music supervisor and music director Michael

Fort Lauderdale, FL (August 13, 2019) – Parade Organizers announced today legendary multi-platinum superstar, Bret Michaels, as the Grand Marshal of the 48th Annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Boat Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019.
Bret will serve as an ambassador for South Florida’s most acclaimed holiday celebration.
“Bret is one of the most iconic faces of rock-n-roll
and we are excited to have him bring his superstar presence to rock Greater
Fort Lauderdale,” said Lisa Scott-Founds, President & CEO of Winterfest,
Inc. “The added bonus is having him perform at the new Hard Rock Live the night
before the Parade as part of his 2019 worldwide Unbroken Tour.”
Michaels’ relentless work
ethic has extended him beyond his front man persona in the band “Poison” and
his solo career in music. His Michaels Entertainment Group is a multi-million
dollar empire. Along with his multifaceted career, he helps to raise millions
of dollars for charities through his Life Rocks Foundation. He has partnered
with both the American Diabetes Association and Juvenile Diabetes acting as a
spokesperson and sponsor.
