Winterfest® Announces Bill Walker as 2019 Commodore of the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Boat Parade
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL September 12th, 2019 In honor of his dedication to the Parade and community involvement, the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest® Boat Parade has announced Bill Walker as the 2019 Commodore. Walker, President and CEO of Water Taxi Fort Lauderdale, has been involved as a Winterfest® board member as well as the Winterfest® Boat Committee since 2016, and has had his Water Taxis as Parade entries for over 10 years.
Since acquiring Water Taxi Fort Lauderdale in 2007, Walker and his company of 150 people have created a unique waterway service that has become a signature transportation resource to this area. Before relocating to South Florida, Walker served as the Principal and President at Boston’s Best Cruises. Here he developed a system that included the first high speed bow loading catamarans to be ADA accessible. Now, Walker is an established member of the Marine Advisory Board of Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and the Las Olas Association Board of Directors. CEO of Winterfest® Lisa Scott-Founds said, “Bill’s passion, reliability, and extensive knowledge of maritime has made him the perfect candidate to take the helm as this year’s Winterfest® Commodore”.
Bill Walker will be honored at the Grand Marshal Reception on December 13th. Walker will be a part of the Parade along Fort Lauderdale waterways in true Commodore Style on December 14th, at 6:30p.m.

After your application submission, you will be redirected directly to the Boat Entry Fee in our online store that matches your choice of Vessel Category above. Please enter your vessel name in the “Order notes” field during checkout. It’s an easy step to Holiday FUN!
The types of parade entries and the prices are as follows:
- PRIVATE or NON-PROFIT: $35.00 (NO SIGNAGE or NON-PROFIT Sign ONLY)
- GOVERNMENT: $35.00 (Government signage allowed)
- COMMERCIAL SIGNAGE (ALL signage approved by Winterfest.) Fees are based on vessel size:

Winterfest, Inc. is known for producing wholesome, unique, internationally recognized events that reflect the diversity and culture of South Florida. South Florida’s signature event, The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade has earned the title, “The World’s Most Watched Boat Parade.”
Winterfest embraces the dual goals of providing a means for the residents of the Greater Fort Lauderdale area to come together and enjoy spectacular and unique events as well as attracting positive national and international attention to the Greater Fort Lauderdale area as a tourist destination and as a great place to live, work and play.

Winterfest Parade Viewing Area Tips
For your safety. In order to help protect our valued guests, Winterfest will conduct searches of bags at our entrances, as a condition of entry onto the viewing area. Expect to walk through metal detectors and/or wands, so empty your person of metal objects.
TIPS TO ENJOY YOUR PARADE VIEWING EXPERIENCE AT THE GATED AREA AT LAS OLAS AND THE INTRACOASTAL
Arrive early. There is plenty to see and do. The area opens at 4:00 p.m. with live entertainment and activities. Food and beverages are for sale in this gated viewing area.
Bridges: Bridge Timings are approximate, and traffic can cause delays. Plan to be in the area no later than 6 p.m. For bridge openings throughout the day of parade: https://winterfestparade.com/when-are-the-bridges-up
Check the weather. South Florida weather in December is world-famous for its balmy, tropical conditions, but can change quickly. Check whether you need a hat, a sweater, or a poncho. Our official television station, WSVN Channel 7, hosts a seven-day forecast. https://wsvn.com/weather/
Seating. Chairs will be provided.
Parking. Las Olas Parking Garage is adjacent to the Park. Winterfest encourages Ride Share for this event.
Pets. Please leave pets at home. Pets are not permitted in the Park. Do not leave them in your vehicle. Only service dogs are allowed within the Parade viewing area. Remember, the Parade has fireworks.
Photos. The Parade and Viewing Area will have plenty of snapshot opportunities. Remember to upload your photos to social media with the hashtag #WinterfestFL
Credit cards & ATM’s. MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover are accepted at designated ATM machines. Check with Winterfest Services for more information.
Remember your medication. If you have a medical condition requiring medication, bring what you need with you.
Parade Entry List. This website and the Winterfest app will have a list of Parade Entries. Many of the photo images will be uploaded approximately an hour before viewing the Parade.
Vote for your Favorite Boat: You can vote for your favorite entry on winterfestparade.com or with the Winterfest App starting on Parade day. You can vote once a day until January 8, 2024, for a chance to win a prize.
Lost? Please seek assistance at the Guest Services booth regarding lost children.
Lost & Found Items. If you’ve lost an item during your visit, all unattended property will be safely placed in the Guest Services booth.
Bring your appetite. The Parade Viewing Area has a festival atmosphere with food and drinks available for purchase. Remember, this location is close to Fort Lauderdale Beach with plenty of restaurants to enjoy pre and post Parade!

Enjoy a Festival Atmosphere prior to the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade at the Winterfest Grandstand Viewing Area powered by Ford. This organized and reserved seating area is the largest public viewing area along the 12 mile Parade route. Viewers can reserve a seat at an affordable price or walk into the park ($5 pp & find a viewing area along the seawall – no seating).
Enjoy the pre-parade fun with food, drink and craft vendors, live entertainment and other activities.. Tickets are $20 (children)-$25 (adult without the promo code).
