How Can I Volunteer?

If you are interested in meeting new people and having a great time while supporting South Florida’s largest one-day event, Winterfest is the place for you! We have volunteer opportunities for the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, Family Fun Days, Winterfest Launch Party, Family Fun Day, Black Tie Ball, and our Outdoor Parade Viewing Area.

Do you own a boat and like to watch the Parade? Consider becoming a recognized vessel on the waterway. As a Control Boater (with your vessel in prime anchoring location on Parade Night) you and your friends can volunteer to be the eyes and ears of the Parade. 2023 Control Boat Form.

The Winterfest Black Tie Ball will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and is the largest Black Tie in Fort Lauderdale. We utilize approximately 25-30 volunteers for this event to help with the Silent and Live Auction, guest check-in, and greeters.

At Las Olas Intracoastal Park (the new location for Parade Viewing), we use approximately 100 volunteers throughout the day in shifts. We begin setting up on Wednesday, the week of..parade, and your help is needed. On the day of the parade, we begin at 8:00 am to help with setup. Banners need to be hung, decorating to do, just the usual set-up for a BIG PARTY! Fill out the volunteer registration form and someone will contact you.

If you are available to answer phones and help out in the Winterfest office with ticket sales, we will start scheduling volunteers for November through December and then again in January to wrap up and help recap the year for our Sponsors. We also participate with a booth at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October and will need volunteers to help man our booth. On the night of the parade we have volunteer spotters and spectators with boats who volunteer as Control Boats for the Parade.

Students: Need service hours? Distribute our posters to various businesses around your home or school for credit. Poster distribution begins in September! Get your Service Hours while shopping or visiting your favorite spots by Poster Distribution in October. Come to the Winterfest Office the 3rd Week of October to pick up Posters and this FORM. It is EASY!

Volunteers will receive attendance information to the Volunteer Party in March!

I would like to volunteer my services for the 2024 Winterfest Celebration and agree to the following:
  1. To fulfill all confirmed shifts and arrive on time for each shift.
  2. To wear the official volunteer t-shirt during my shift(s). If applicable.
  3. Not to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during schedule shifts. (If you wish you consume alcohol after your shift, you must remove volunteer t-shirt or other Winterfest material (such as banners on boats) and change into your regular shirt.)
  4. To be an ambassador of good will and help the festival patrons in any and all capacities.
  5. All shifts will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. I understand that I may be asked to fill in another area if the one I am requesting is full.
  6. I would like to volunteer with the individual listed below, during the same shift, and understand that they must fill out their own form.

  2. The information that I provide may be used to conduct a background check, to include driving records, criminal background check, and other records where required by local, state or federal law for volunteers working with youth.
  3. I am obligated to immediately notify Winterfest of any information changes in information contained in this application.
  4. If I am not accepted as a volunteer, Winterfest is not required to disclose the reasons for non-acceptance.
Release of Liability and Photo Release
Screening process - You may be required to complete a form that will allow Winterfest, Inc. to perform back-round check, this may include fingerprinting. Please bring a photo ID when you come to the Volunteer Office for your interview. Undertaking to act in a responsible and safe manner - I hereby undertake and agree to act in a professional and safe manner at all times while performing as a Winterfest, Inc. volunteer.

Photos - I hereby grant Winterfest, Inc. and persons acting on its behalf the unrestricted and perpetual right and permission, in respect to pictures or film footage that it, through its photographers and/or contractors, has taken of me or in which I may be included with others, to use, to publish, to broadcast, and to authorize a third party to use, publish or broadcast the same in whole or part, in any and all media now or hereafter know, for the purpose of promoting volunteerism and/or Winterfest, Inc.
I, the undersigned, do hereby forever discharge, release and hold harmless Winterfest, Inc. and its sponsors, of and from any and all manner of action, suits, damages, or claims whatsoever arising from any loss or damage to the person or persons or property of the undersigned while in the possession or under the supervision of Winterfest, Inc. I do hereby consent to all rules and regulations established for the event and understand that the Event Coordinator will have full authority. I understand that failure to abide by the above stated guidelines will result in my immediate dismissal of the event.
By typing my electronic signature and submitting this form I agree that I have read, understood and accepted the terms and conditions and, furthermore, that it is my intent to submit an application to be a volunteer with Winterfest, Inc., Winterfest Foundation and / or the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.
